Yesterday was a special day for the Morrison whanau – it would have been the 80th birthday of Sir Howard who passed away 8 years ago.
His cousin Terry says family and friends made their annual pilgrimage to Sir Howard's grave at Kauae Cemetery in Ngongotaha.
"So we go up there the family goes up there and we sit down and talk to him and sing some songs and have a glass of wine" he says.
Terry Morrison says its always a special occasion for the whanau which brings together various generations.
