Maori Party are here to stay

The co-vice president of the Maori Party Susan Cullen says the party is well on the mend after the last election's disappointing result.
She says the party did some international research which shows poltical parties do lose support when key figures leave as voters are uncertain about the party's future and this is what happened to the Maori party when Dr Pita Sharples and Dame Tariana Turia left.
"I think now our people are coming to the sense that the Maori Party is here to stay and that new faces are something you should welcome and not be afraid of change" she says.
Susan Cullen says the Party is confident it will see good support at the next election.
She says the party are always looking for new members and a 2 day hui at Ruapotaka Marae in Glen Innes starting at 10am tomorrow is open to anyone to attend.
