The chief executive of the Federation of Maori Authorities Traci Houpapa says a conferencefor Maori Women leaders last week reinforced the need for greater equality in the economy.
Traci Houpapa says while all the research shows that women are earning far less than men when it comes to Maori women the gap is even greater.
She says this situation has to change in an age when Maori women are now running some of the largest companies in the country.
