Taipei Food Show on TPK menu
Te Puni Kokiri wants to step up the trade and cultural exchanges between Maori and Taiwan’s original inhabitants.
A free trade deal signed between New Zealand and Taiwan in December 2013 includes special provision for the Ministry of Maori Development and the Council of indigenous Peoples of Taiwan to facilitate opportunities for indigenous peoples engage in trade and cultural exchanges.
Since then three Maori business delegations have visited the Separate Customs Territory of Taiwan.
The ministry says it plans to have a strong Maori presence at the next Taipei Food Show.
