Respect our culture
An apology isn’t enough to stop the company that manages Te Matatini’s copyrights taking action against an Auckland radio station who put doctored photos of kapa haka performers up on the internet.
More FM has removed the photos of the winning Te Whanau a Apanui team from its Facebook page.

They are also getting advice on taking action for defamation, breach of copyright and also a breach of the United Nations Declaration of the Rights of Indigenous Peoples covering misappropriation of cultural taonga.
"There is a principal here that we want everyone to know and that is you need to treat our culture with repsect. People have said look they're funny, look one mans humour is another mans anger. I certainly saw the photos and Rawiri's kids saw the photo's and they were upset by those photos" says Willie Te Aho
