Violence work earns tohu

The winner of the first Waipareira Whanau Ora Award says many Maori men grow up with little idea of how to look after themselves.
Greg Noda works with men and their whanau to reduce domestic violence.
He says a referral by the courts to Waipareira is often the first time the men have had a chance to take stock of their lives.
Greg Noda says he tries to help people examine the world through a Maori lens and see what value they bring their community, rather than just dwell on the damage they have done.
