Little ready for rough and tumble leadership
New Labour Party leader Andrew Little says he’s ready to take the fight to the Government.
The list MP was elected on the third ballot yesterday by a narrow margin over Grant Robertson, with a strong union vote and the preferences from supporters of Nanaia Mahuta swaying the result.
He says his background as a lawyer and in the unions movement has readied him for the rough and tumble of leading the Opposition in parliament.
"There’s always opposing arguments to what is going on and sometimes they get heated because there are points of principle and deep seated values at stake. So we are ready to take the fight to government because the way I see it there are far too many people who are being left out, being left behind and they can't get ahead and we need to change that " says the new Labour leader
