Maori Party opposition to bill a sham

Labour's Maori caucus is calling the Maori Party out for hypocrisy over the Employment Relations Amendment Bill.
Chair Peeni Henare says while MP Marama Fox is trumpeting her party's opposition to the bill and the fact they will vote against it at the first, second and third reading stages, she's not admitting her party's confidence and supply agreement means it has to vote with National on procedural motions.
That means last night it voted twice to stop debate at the committee stages, speeding up its progress through Parliament.
Mr Henare says the bill will affect thousands of Maori workers by taking away rights and weakening work place bargaining.
