Ireland musos to perform with Trinity Roots

Maori and Irish sounds will blend next month when platinum selling New Zealand band Trinity Roots teams up with three of Ireland’s top traditional musicians to perform and record.
The Motu : Oile'ain project was instigated by Irish born New Zealander Gerry Paul.
He will play guitar in a trio with Alan Doherty, known for his flute solos on the Lord of the Rings soundtrack, and fiddler and composer Tola Custy, backing singer Pauline Scanlon.
With Trinity Roots members Warren Maxwell, Rio Hemopo and Ben Lemi, they will play shows in Paraparaumu and Wellington as well as record an EP to be released in early 2015 to coincide with Celtic Connections.
