Time for iwi to collaborate

The organiser of this week's iwi investment hui in Taranaki says she's keen to foster a spirit of collaboration among iwi round the country.
Kura Denness says it came out of discussions Te Atiawa Holdings (Taranaki), which she chairs, had with other fisheries and treaty settlement holding companies.
She says people feel they are too much on their own, and they need to be sharing stories about what works and what doesn't.
"And it makes absolutely no sense for us all to be toiling away doing exactly the same work and making often the same mistakes when what we need to do is sit down, come together and collaborate," Ms Denness says.
Conference speakers include former Labour cabinet minister Shane Jones, Maori Trustee Jamie Tuuta, BNZ chief economist Tony Alexander, and Carmel Fisher of Fisher Funds.
