Ngati Apa teams with Lincoln for training
Rangitikei iwi Ngati Apa has formed a strategic relationship with Lincoln University for education, training, research and commercial development.
Runanga chair Pahia Turia says the iwi has land through its treaty settlement as well as its recent purchase of a stake in Flock House farms near Bulls.
He says it’s keen that its own people learn the skills needed to work at all levels in the primary sector on and around its investments.
It also wants to see the general Maori population in the region given better access to primary sector training and tertiary education.
The initial agreement is for 10 years.
