Ngai Tahu members in Gore plan to rebuild a tribal facility that was damaged by fire last week.
The fire destroyed a workshop and badly damaged an ablution block in the Hokonui Te Runanga o Ngai Tahu complex, which serves as a centre for health and social services including elderly and youth support.
Runanga chair Rewi Anglem says the fire may have been caused by an electrical fault.
He says the building was about 15 years old.
