Industry to review forestry safety

The Maori Party says a decision by the forestry industry to conduct its own inquiry into safety doesn’t let the Government off the hook.
Co-leader Te Ururoa Flavell says it is unacceptable forestry has the highest number of workplace injury deaths in New Zealand.
He says the Government has told the Maori Party it is doing enough on forestry safety, but it is clearly not.
The Maori Party does not want one more life lost working in the forestry industry, and sees that as both an industry and a government responsibility.
