Warriors games free on MTV
Maori Television has struck a two-year deal with SKY to screen all Vodafone Warriors games free-to-air from the start of the NRL season in March.
The games will be shown on Sunday or Monday nights on a delayed basis, with commentary for the 13 home games provided by former Warriors’ coach Tony Kemp and Maori Television presenter Te Arahi Maipi.
Maori TV’s general manager of programming, Haunui Royal, says the Warriors are a natural fit for Maori Television.
The deals also allows the Te Reo channel to screen a weekly NRL match in addition to the Warriors games.
Maori TV’s coverage of the UK Super League starts on February 9, and the first Warriors game against the Parramatta Eels will air on Monday March 10 at 10.00pm.
