Kite fills MTV vacancy

Digital technology pioneer Rhonda Kite of Te Aupouri has been appointed as a crown representative to the board of Maori Television.
She replaces Animation Research founder Ian Taylor, who quit in September because of his concern over the botched process to find a new chief executive.
Maori Affairs Minister Dr Pita Sharples says as the founder and CEO of Kiwa Media, Ms Kite has almost 20 years experience in film and television production and digital publishing.
Her patented voice dubbing technology is being used to add Maori soundtracks to children’s cartoons.
Dr Sharples says her understanding of digital media will be valuable to Maori Television as technologies converge.
Academic Donna Ngaronoa Gardiner was also reappointed for a further three-year term.
