Marley son in Ragamuffin lineup

Some of the top Maori reggae acts will share the stage with a new generation of Jamaican stars at this summer’s Ragamuffin Festival in Rotorua.
Headliners are Damian Marley, Bob Marley’s youngest son, Morgan Heritage, which features the five sons of reggae veteran Denroy Morgan, Grammy award winner Shaggy and Los Angeles-based reggae band Groundation.
Festival Director Jackie Sanders says the line-up takes the festival back to its reggae roots, and it will be particularly special to have Damian Marley in the week of his father’s birthday and marking 35 years since Bob Marley’s historic performance at Western Springs.
New Zealand acts include Tiki Taane doing an acoustic and MC set with Optimus Gryme, House of Shem, Three Houses Down, Soljah, and Sons of Zion.
The headliners are spread across the two days of the festival at the Rotorua International Stadium, January 31 and February 1.
