Waiariki MP Te Ururoa Flavell has failed in his bid to get the Maori affairs select committee to inquire into the 2007 Operation Eight Urewera raids.
Mr Flavell wanted the committee to hear from the families in Ruatoki who were caught up in the action by police to arrest people who had participated in military style training camps in Te Urewera.
He says National and Labour MPs blocked the inquiry.
