Champions spring from Ngā Puna ō Waiorea

Western Springs College successfully defended its title at this year’s Polyfest, with Ngā Puna ō Waiorea again emerging as the top kapa haka rōpū in the premier division.
Auckland Girls Grammar also enjoyed a repeat of last year’s result, taking third place.
Coming between the central city teams was Manurewa’s James Cook High School in the number two spot.
Hato Petera tutor Te Hira Paenga, whose rōpū came seventh, says the system of breaking the Māori competition into three divisions is working well, with all schools getting the chance to test themselves against their peers.
