Māori music legends celebrated
He’s a legend, and tomorrow he’ll be helping to pay tribute to other legends of Māori music.
John Rowles is part of a stellar line up for Everything is Ka Pai at the Auckland Town Hall.
He joins Will and Annie Crummer, Maisey Rika, Ria Hall, Hinewehi Mohi, St Joseph's Māori Girls' Choir and Waka Huia in recreating some of the classic Māori anthems.
Rowles, who has included a Māori medley in all his tours, says there is a great history to be celebrated, from George Nepia's Underneath the Māori Moon to the songs of Prince Tui Teka, Billy T James, Sir Howard Morrison and many others.
For Everything is Ka Pai, John Rowles will perform two of his earliest and biggest hits, Cheryl Moana Marie and If I Only Had Time.
