Spectrum trust war chest empty

The chair of Te Huarahi Tika says the Māori Spectrum Trust can't fund spectrum claimants to go back to the Waitangi Tribunal or High Court.
Claimants are considering their options in light of the Government’s refusal to set aside any of the 4G or fourth generation spectrum needed for tomorrow's data networks.
Te Huarahi Tika used the 3G spectrum allocated to Māori to get a stake in mobile phone operator 2Degrees through its commercial subsidiary Hautaki.
Daphne Luke says that left it with nothing in the war chest.
‘We’re still waiting on dividends to come back from that but that company debits are breaking even last year and protecting a $15million debit this year, so we’re looking good. In terms of funding a claim, no I don’t think we would be standing first in line for that one,” she says.
Daphne Luke says Te Huarahi Tika Trust is happy to help the spectrum claimants where it can.
