Put up or shut up call to Horan whānau
New Zealand First MP Winston Peters is putting pressure on the family of MP Brendan Horan to resolve a dispute about an inheritance.
He has stood down Mr Horan so he can deal with allegations made by a brother about lottery winnings allegedly missing from their late mother's bank account.
Mr Peters says it's a family dispute which should not have come into the public domain in the way it has.
"No papers, no evidence, no facts have been presented and I spoke to that brother and said 'I take those allegations deadly seriously. If you want me to take them seriously, you need to back them up with evidence and papers and documents.' He said he would, but I waited two months and never got a thing," he says.
