Tem eats up cannibal script
Actor Temuera Morrison says he was keen to work with writer Briar Grace Smith – even if the vehicle she delivered wasn't what he expected.
Morrison stars in the comedy horror Fresh Meat, which opens tomorrow.
He says starring as a poor professor whose home is invaded by a gang of criminals, who find out too late they have moved in on a family of cannibals, was a big stretch from Grace-Smith's last film, Strength of Water.
He says the script looked ridiculous and seemed out of his acting range, but then he saw the opportunity to show people his comic side.
Morrison says Fresh Meat may spark controversy, but controversy didn't hurt Once Were Warriors in the box office.
