North Island Whānau Ora Commissioning Agency chair Merepeka Raukawa-Tait says providers will have to work smarter to cope with a smaller than expected Budget allocation.
Commissioning funding went up just $500,000 to $182.3 million, meaning it went backwards once inflation is taken into account.
Ms Raukawa-Tait says that will affect services to vulnerable whanau.
“Even if everyone is going to be feeling the pinch it really is a time for collaboration and making sure you keep up the relationships so that if necessary you can call on your other partners and service providers,” she says.
