Tamihere vs. Bennett stoush welcomed by Mana
Mana leader Hone Harawira says he’d welcome seeing John Tamihere back in Parliament if it means seeing less of Paula Bennett.
The former Tamaki Makaurau MP who lost his seat to the Maori Party’s Pita Sharples is tipped to be considering a run at the Social Development Minister in the Waitakere seat.
Mr Harawira says Mr Tamihere’s work with Te Whanau o Waipareira means he has to deal with Ms Bennett’s policies on a daily basis.
“He is diametrically opposed to everything that Paula Bennett is doing and there’s that old saying, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. If John Tamihere is coming in with the express aim of taking Paula Bennett out and attacking her policies at every opportunity, then I welcome him to the fold,” he says.
