Bodies recovered from sea
The bodies of 2Degrees Chief Executive Eric Hertz and his wife have been recovered from the sea floor off the Kawhia coast.
Kaumatua from the Kawhia and Raglan harbours welcomed the navy team at Raglan when they returned last night from the site where the Hertz’ twin-engine-plane crashed on Easter Saturday.Kaumatua Russell Riki said it had been nothing short of a miracle the bodies were found.
A large part of the plane was also recovered, and will be handed over to the Civil Aviation Authority.
2Degrees Chair Stewart Sheriff has stepped in as acting head of the mobile phone company, which is partly-owned by Te Huarahi Tika Māori spectrum trust and two central North Island land trusts.
