Cool as co-leadership coming out for Chloe Swarbrick
Chloe Swarbrick says attending a hui at Turangawaewae Marae in Ngaruawahia was a chance tp highlight the Green Party’s committment to being a Te Tiriti-centric political party.
Ms Swarbrick and Marama Davidson attended the 50th anniversary of the wharekai Kimiora in what was the first official event as co-leader.
She welcomed the chance to meet with Kingi Tuheitia.
“It was cool man. It was something pretty special. Incredibly humbled and privileged to be a part of that and fr it to be our first outing as a co-leadership team I think demonstrates the fact we have that commitment tobeing a tiriti-led party,” Ms Swarbrick says.
Marama Davidson says her new co-leader Chloe Swarbrick acquitted herself well at Turangawaewae.
She says the invitation to attend the annual poukai was a real honour and a recognition of the Greens’ commitment to Maori mana motuhake.
“So I’m really stoked about it, and its something that we want to continue doing not just for Kiingitanga but with Maori mass mobilisation across the motu,” Ms Davidson says.
