Abbie Bull I Z Energy’s head of community and sustainability
Earlier this week, it was announced that two Northland food banks, in Kaikohe and Kaitaia respectfully, received a combined $21,000 in December as part of the Z Energy Good in the Hood community fundraising initiative.
In 2023, the initiative shared $1 million to more than 500 different charities and neighbourhood organisations across the motu, with each of Z’s service stations giving away $5,000 to local communities and customers having a say on how the funds are shared through in store voting.
Also, Z exceeded $10 million in total of community donations since the company began in 2011, mostly due to the Good in the Hood initiative.
Atereano spoke with Z Energy’s head of community and sustainability, Abbie Bull about the initiative, the recent milestones and what they find rewarding about the initiative.
