Tina tops in tino pai final

Sports commentator Ken Laban says last night’s NRL grand final capped one of the most exciting years for rugby league – and all eyes will be on what the Warriors bring to next year’s competition.
The Penrith Panthers downed the Brisbane Broncos in a 26-24 come from behind win at Sydney Stadium.
Mr Laban says broadcaster Fox Sport and its free to air partners have had record audiences, and the 3.7 million tickets sold for games across the competition was 20 percent up on the previous record.
A personal highlight of the final was the pre-game tribute to the late Tina Turner.
“Given I was at the Sydney Football Stadium in 1992 and 1993 when Tina appeared live so for a lot of the older viewers and punters that were there last night it was an appropriate way to acknowledge probably the highest-profile superstar to lend her name and image to rugby league the best part of 30 years ago,” Mr Laban says.
