Nats block virtual parliament option
Greens co-leader Marama Davidson says forcing parliamentarians to come to Wellington for a one hour session was a deeply cynical move.
She says since the Covid pandemic the Green and Maori parties have pushed for the ability to run virtual sessions, but National and ACT blocked the idea.
“Expecting politicians to try to get to Wellington in a storm and refusing to allow us to particiapte remotely (which) is something the Greens have always pushed hard for and it’s really dumb that the Nationalparty and ACT oppose that,” Ms Davidson says.
Marama Davidson says some Auckland MPs had to deal with their own flooded homes and families in risky situations.
