Ms Davidson has been warned her social media endorsement of Whittaker’s dairy milk chocolate bar from the steps of Parliament is a breach of the Cabinet Manual.
She says she’s always ready to highlight organisations promoting the use of te reo Maori.
“My father stood on the steps of Parliament 50 years ago to deliver the petition to make te reo Maori official on our land and I have for all my life continued to uphold and celebrate and anyone who is upholding and affirming te reo Maori I will continue to,” Ms Davidson says.
While she used some strong language in her post, that was a response to the racist backlash Whittaker’s has generated for its use of te reo Maori.
