Changes afoot for digital funding

The Government is thinking about broadening what it wants to do with the Ka Hao Maori Digital Technology Fund.
The $30 million fund was created by the previous Government after it refused to allocate any 4G spectrum to Maori interests.
Applications for the second round of funding open tomorrow.
Maori Development Minister Nanaia Mahuta and Research, Science and Innovation Minister Megan Woods say it’s about helping Maori participate in the digital economy through improving skills, growing technology businesses or enhancing Maori language and culture initiatives through digital technologies.
Applicants have until March 9 to submit a short proposal and selected applicants will then be invited to submit a more detailed proposal.
