Bradford starts left side think tank

A new think tank has been launched to provide an informed and active voice from the left in policy debates.
Economic and Social Research Aotearoa grew out of a doctoral research project by former Green MP Sue Bradford.
She says it aims to fill a gap in the ideas market.
It will complement work already done in universities, wananga, Maori and other roopu.
"What’s different about this is it is very geared to a kaupapa that is highly political, that is about challenging the very structures of our society, very clearly grounded in economic and social and ecological justice and in a treaty and tino rangatiratanga kaupapa," Ms Bradford says.
ESRA will also look for ways to strengthen organisations on the left.
