Norman takes lead role for NUMA
The National Urban Maori Authority has welcomed former Waipareira executive Lance Norman as its new Chief Executive.
Chair Willie Jackson says now NUMA has bedded in Te Pou Matakana, the North Island commissioning agency for Whanau Ora, it needs a Chief Executive to chase and manage other national contracts which can be delivered by the constituent authorities.
Current contracts include the Out of Gate prisoner reintegration service and the National Truancy Service.
Mr Norman was formerly Waipareira’s funding and contracts manager as well as running Maori public health organisation Hapai Te Hauora, a role he will continue.
He has been senior advisor to NUMA, looking after its health, education and housing portfolios.
His previous experience includes a senior auditing position with global accounting firm Ernst & Young, financial controller for Black & Decker NZ, and business manager for DeVere Textiles.
Mr Norman has whakapapa to Ngati Kuri, Te Aupouri, Ngai Takoto, Ngati Kahu, Te Rarawa, Ngapuhi, and Ngati Whatua.
