Te Arawa to train leaders
Te Arawa’s treaty settlement body, Te Pumautanga Charitable Trust, has secured a $65,000 grant from J.R McKenzie Trust to run an emerging leadership programme.
Te Arawa Rangatakapu will provide a wananga environment where future Te Arawa leaders can refine their skills and knowledge.
Facilitators Taria Tahana and Ana Morrison say it will focus on cultural, political, social and economic leadership within the tribe.
It’s open to people between the ages of 25 and 49 who will have demonstrated leadership abilities in a range of forums within Te Arawa and have the endorsement of a hapu or iwi organisation or marare.
