Culprits still sought in Whangaparaoa arson

Rodney police are appealing for help to find out who may have set fire to a new carving at the entrance to Whangaparaoa College’s Maori studies block.

The pou was due to be unveiled today, and was shrouded in plastic.

Police say the fire was set sometime on Monday night.

The carving was scorched and damaged by the black plastic.
