Kelvin Davis ready to step in

Former MP Kelvin Davis is looking forward to returning to parliament to replace Shane Jones as a list MP.
Mr Davis has been working for the Education Ministry working with northern iwi to develop strategic education plans.
He says he’s looking forward to working on Maori education from within parliament.
He will also try to hold Tai Tokerau MP Hone Harawira to account for the lack of progress in the electorate.
Mr Davis says Mr Jones has made a valuable contribution to the Labour Party.
" His eloquence in the house in both te reo Maori and english is going to be sorely missed. He was the Maori face of the Labour Party when we'd go on to places like Ratana and Waitangi and now I guess it's up to people like myself to step up and try and fill his rather hefty shoes. Shane is a rangatira in his own right and he's going to be hard to replace" says Kelvin Davis.
Shane Jones is expected to leave parliament early next month.
