Maori issues to fore at public health talk fest
There’s a big Maori turn out for the Public Health Association conference in Taranaki.
Maori caucus representative Lisa McNab says because the caucus is hosting the event, issues of concern to Maori are at the fore.
She says the association has been wrestling with ideas about partnership, collaboration and the role of the Treaty of Waitangi in health.
"Posing the question what does that mean now? How truly are we working together to achieve the same outcomes in fluoridation, in smoke free environments, in nutrition and physical activities, how and what and who, how well are we doing it?," Ms McNab says.
