Teens given business challenge
Forty-four of the top graduate’s from the Maori Women’s Development Incorporation’s MaiBiz programme are in Auckland this week for a five day business challenge workshop.
Chief executive Teresa Tepania-Ashton says MaiBiz is run in schools with high Maori populations that are often lower decile.
She say the workshop Te Wero Pakihi at Awataha Marae will be a real eye-opener for many of the students who have never been to Auckland before.
Other sponsors are Massey University and Westpac, and cafe franchiser The Coffee Club is providing students with a real-life marketing challenge.
