Third strike at Ngāti Toa PHO
A third one-hour strike by general practitioners working for Ngāti Toa owned ORA Toi PHO will go ahead tomorrow after the company refused to budge on their call for dentists to be included in the collective agreement.
The 21 doctors work in practices in Porirua, Cannons Creek, Titahi Bay and Newtown.
Lloyd Woods from the Association of Salaried Medical Specialists says the GPs want Ora Toa to recognise the dentists’ skills and their part in the wider medical team.
He says including the dentists in the agreement will not incur a significant cost, it will greatly improve morale.
Two further hour-long stoppages are planned for December 18 and 19, before a full-day strike on Christmas Eve.
