Cases fall but COVID deaths continue
There have been two more deaths from COVID-19.
Director-General of Health Dr Ashley Bloomfield says one was a man in his 70s who died in the hospital unit at the Rosewood Aged Care facility in Christchurch.
He was not one of the 20 Rosewood residents transferred to Burwood Hospital, but he was treated as if he had the virus even though he tested negative.
The other death was a woman in her 60s who has been in intensive care in Dunedin Hospital since April 7.
Her family were able to be with her last night.
There have been three new cases reported, two confirmed.
