A West End favourite is heading to Te Ahurei Toi o Tāmaki Auckland Arts Festival, with The Choir of Man announced as the first act in the Festival’s 2027 programme.
The Olivier Award-nominated production will take over the Festival Spiegeltent, transforming it into an English-style pub complete with a working bar on stage.
Nine performers combine singing, dancing, tap, slam poetry and live instruments in a 75-minute show featuring music associated with Queen, Adele, Sia, Paul Simon, Guns N’ Roses, Avicii, Katy Perry and Luther Vandross.
The Choir of Man has performed across four continents and completed a four-year West End run, building its reputation around audience participation, big harmonies, humour and pub-style singalongs.
It will be the Festival’s Signature Spiegeltent Event for 2027 and is the first production revealed ahead of further programme announcements in the coming weeks.
The 2027 Auckland Arts Festival runs across Tāmaki Makaurau from 4 to 21 March, following a 2026 Festival which recorded more than 188,000 attendances and reported a direct economic impact of $24.8 million for Auckland.
General public ticket sales for the first two weeks of The Choir of Man open from 2 October.
