The BNZ Breakers have confirmed explosive South Sudanese-Australian forward Kouat Noi is set to join the club for the NBL27 season, pending final approval from the Australian National Basketball League.

The 201-centimetre forward arrives in Auckland after helping the Sydney Kings secure another championship campaign, bringing valuable title-winning experience and one of the league’s most dangerous offensive skillsets to the Breakers roster.

Noi has emerged as one of the NBL’s most exciting players in recent seasons, earning the NBL25 Best Sixth Man award following standout performances with the Kings. During the championship-winning campaign he averaged 11.5 points and 3.8 rebounds per game while shooting nearly 40 percent from beyond the arc.

The signing is seen as another major statement from the Breakers as the club aggressively rebuilds its roster ahead of NBL27. The deal reportedly includes a mutual option that could keep Noi in Auckland through to the NBL28 season.

Breakers management says Noi brings elite scoring ability, championship experience and a high-energy style of play expected to excite fans at Spark Arena. Club officials also highlighted his versatility and ability to impact games from multiple positions on the floor.

Noi joins a rapidly strengthening Breakers squad that has already secured marquee guard DJ Vasiljevic, rising talent Preston Le Gassick and a contract extension for Kiwi player Carlin Davison.

The club believes the new-look roster has the potential to become one of the most dangerous and entertaining teams in the competition, as the Breakers aim to return to championship contention after recent rebuilding seasons.

Noi has already won two NBL championships with the Sydney Kings and is regarded as one of the league’s premier perimeter scorers and impact players off the bench. His arrival also adds further international flavour to the Breakers lineup as the club continues building connections across Australia, New Zealand and the wider Pacific basketball community.

The NBL27 season is expected to begin later this year, with excitement already building around the Breakers’ revamped roster and aggressive off-season recruitment drive.
