A few months back the former President of the ACT Party was convicyed of sex crimes against boys. Just remind yourselves of the ages of his victims – one was under the age of consent. After the convictions he continued to profess his innocence and tried to appeal the convictions – the appeal was turned down. Then came the Parole Board – this particular child sex offender was keen to get out and when he was asked if he accepted what he did  “I just sort of got to the stage where I say, look, you know, other people say it happened, right?” – yeah they did – the victims. Jago went on to say

“The jury reached a verdict. I’m prepared to live with that. It’s not my recollection of events,” he said.

“The court of public opinion has reached the same result. There’s no point in my pushing back on that. It gets me nowhere.”

And now here we are – the same former ACT  Party President is once again before the courts -charged with indecently assaulting one person in Auckland in 1995.

Silence from the Deputy Prime Minister – why? is it too politicall inconvenient that your former Party President raped young men and a child underbthe age of 16? or that he’s facing another charge? The victims have to live with it much more so than old mate Jago.

And while the ACT Party crow about the raruraru within the Opposition – its about time we all turned the spotlight on the convicted pedophile in the corner and his former colleauges what they knew and when they knew it.
