Today’s kaupapa is inspired by a DM I received that said, “Do a story on how urban Māori get puha. There are no beds I know of. If there are, they probs taste like sewage. Where do they get it, do they pay a premium?”
Which inspired a conversation on FOOD SOVEREIGNTY.
What’s food sovereignty, well I spoke with Dr Jessica Hutchings, whose charitable trust Papawhakaritorito does workshops and publishes pukapuka about what food sovereignty is and how to do your part.
I also spoke with Lione Hotere from Papatuanuku Kōkiri marae in Māngere who are empowering food sovereignty on the soils of Māngere.
