Māori science helping food revolution
Māori business leader Paul Morgan says he’s impressed with the number of young Māori scientists coming through.
Māori agribusiness innovation has been showcased at this week’s Foodomics conference in Wellington.
Mr Morgan says the conference wraps up a 10-year plan to drive economic growth for Aotearoa by developing high-value foods with validated health benefits.
Māori have been part of that.
“We’ve got a whole generation coming through. Yesterday and the day before we a had number of presentations from Māori groups including my own Wakatū Incorporation on their programmes. So it’s widened and but quite a lot of masters and PhDs coming through in the different programmes,” Mr Morgan says.
