It’s the first time the South by Southwest festival has been held outside Austin, Texas, where it has become a platform to launch the next big thing.
Musician Rebel Reid from the band Valkyrie says the Aotearoa cohort includes Maioha award winner MOHI, Melowdownz, Jordyn with a Why and more.
“We’re heading over so we can raise our flag and be proud Māori. This is a cool opportunity to showcase all us creative Māori,” she says.
