BlackRock no Santa Claus says Peters

New Zealand First leader Winston Peters is questioning the Government’s welcome for the largest multi-national investment company in the world.
The Government will work with US based BlackRock to create a $2 billion fund climate infrastructure fund which will pool money from Crown companies and entities, superannuation funds and private sector funds to invest in renewable energy here.
Mr Peters says it’s mind blowing the Government and Opposition parties are backing the move without revealing the long term cost to the economy.
“All of a sudden we have someone posing as Santa Claus as if they’re a charity and Chris Hipkins comes out of left field in a desperate campaign with everything going wrong for them and he announces it without any details whatsoever and we’re mean to salute it. All I am saying is there was a time when we would do all this ourselves,” he says.
