Bad news for the Maori Party, as Maori voters are turning away from its message.

A Te Karere DigiPoll has found if there was an election tomorrow, the Maori Party vote would be just 17 percent, compared with 28 percent in January and 36 percent in January 2011.

In contrast, Labour’s share of the party vote from Maori voters has grown 5 points to 39 percent since the start of the year, and the Greens vote almost doubled from 8 to 15 percent.

Just 29 percent of Maori said they would give a Maori candidate their electoral vote.
