The Silver Ferns have named their squads for the 2026 Constellation Cup against Australia and the three-match series against the Net Blacks NZ Men’s team, as preparations begin to intensify ahead of next year’s Netball World Cup.
The Constellation Cup squad retains the core of the New Zealand side that went unbeaten on its way to Commonwealth Games gold in Glasgow, defeating Jamaica 56-48 in the final.
Te Paea Selby-Rickit, Peta Toeava and Parris Mason have been added from outside the Commonwealth Games squad, giving head coach Dame Noeline Taurua additional combinations and options across the court.
Further changes will be made for November’s Net Blacks series, with Laura Balmer in line for a potential Silver Ferns debut alongside the returning Aliyah Dunn and Tayla Earle.
Taurua says the Australian series will test how well New Zealand can build on its Commonwealth Games combinations, while the Net Blacks matches will provide opportunities to develop other players, test combinations and strengthen squad depth ahead of a World Cup year.
The Silver Ferns open their Constellation Cup campaign against the Australian Diamonds at Spark Arena in Auckland on Sunday 18 October.
Australia enters the series as the world’s number-one ranked team and defending Constellation Cup champion, but the Diamonds have not won a Test on New Zealand soil since 2021.
For the Silver Ferns, Commonwealth Games gold has provided momentum — now comes another major test against their greatest trans-Tasman rivals.
