The Blues have celebrated a major milestone in the club’s 30-year history, unveiling Sean Fitzpatrick, Zinzan Brooke and Carlos Spencer as the inaugural inductees into the newly established Blues Hall of Fame.
Presented by Barfoot & Thompson, the Blues Hall of Fame recognises the players, stories and defining moments that have shaped the Auckland-based Super Rugby franchise since its formation in 1996.
The three rugby greats were honoured during a formal ceremony at the New Zealand International Convention Centre in Auckland on Friday night.
Each inductee received a specially crafted personalised Waka Hoe, symbolising their individual journeys and contributions to the club’s legacy.
Former All Blacks captain Sean Fitzpatrick was one of the most influential figures in the early years of the Blues, helping establish the team as a powerhouse during the inaugural Super Rugby era.
Zinzan Brooke, widely regarded as one of rugby’s greatest loose forwards, played a key role in the Blues’ rise through the late 1990s with his dynamic style and leadership.
Carlos Spencer became one of the club’s most iconic and entertaining players, earning global recognition for his creativity, flair and attacking brilliance in the No.10 jersey.
The launch of the Hall of Fame marks a new chapter for the Blues as the club reflects on three decades of rugby history and honours the individuals who helped build its identity and success.
